The opening of the Queen Elizabeth line by Crossrail Ltd in 2022 will allow Reading commuters to travel right through central London without having to change trains. The new railway will stretch more than 60 miles from Reading and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east and is expected to serve around 200 million people each year.
